Manchester United target Blaise Matuidi angling for Premier League transfer

Manchester United target Blaise Matuidi would prefer a move to the Premier League if he is to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
Matuidi has been linked with United as a possible alternative to Paul Pogba, with the Red Devils keen to add a midfielder, and new PSG boss Unai Emery has refused to say that the Frenchman would definitely stay at the Ligue 1 side for next season.
The signing of Grzegorz Krychowiak has seen a increased battle for places at PSG and Matuidi is open to departing, according to Le Parisien, but would choose to transfer to the English game over any other league.
The report suggests that, despite Matuidi's desire, there is yet to be any formal approach from a Premier League side.
Chelsea secured a deal for N'Golo Kante earlier this month to fill a midfield gap, while United are looking ever more likely to reach an agreement with Juventus for Pogba.
It means possible doors to the English game are closing for PSG's no.14, although there is still over a month of the transfer window left for a move to arise.
Matuidi featured 31 times in Ligue 1 for PSG last season as they once again claimed the division title.
