Juventus manager confirms Manchester United in talks to sign £100m target Paul Pogba

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed that Manchester United are in talks with the Serie A champions to sign Paul Pogba.

The Red Devils are keen on making Pogba – rated at £100 million – the most expensive signing in their entire history, breaking the world transfer record in the process.

The Frenchman has been rumoured to be linked with several of Europe’s top clubs for the past couple of years and after an impressive Euro 2016.

Allegri has already been busy in the transfer market, bringing in Marko Pjaca and Miralem Pjanic, as well as Mehdi Benatia, but he could lose Pogba after confirming that talks with United are underway.

"Pogba is a Juventus player at the moment but we don’t know what is going to happen. The club are looking after negotiations,” said Allegri.

The Italian is also confident that with the business they have done, especially with snapping up young talent Pjaca, 21, losing Pogba might not be as huge an absence as some expect.

"He (Pjaca) is another quality addition so whatever happens with Pogba, we will be in good shape.”

Pogba was in fine form during the 2015/16 campaign for Juventus as they won their fifth straight Serie A title – the club’s fourth since the French superstar has been at the club.

The Turin side had a rough start to the season, but a run of 26 wins in 28 games up until the end of the campaign to run away with the league title.
