FOOTBALL millionaire Gareth Bale was bunkered when he ran out of cash on a golf break.

The Welsh superstar flew a group of pals to Scotland to play the famous Castle Stuart course.

But when he finished his round the £300,000-a-week ace realised he didn’t have any money to pay the £163 course fee and caddy’s tip.

He was saved when a member of staff drove him to an ATM at the nearby airport.

A source said: “It was quite funny one of the world’s highest paid sportsmen didn’t have cash on him. But he quickly rectified it.”

Bale, 27, is on a whistle-stop tour of some of Scotland’s most exclusive golf courses following Wales’ success at Euro 2016.

The source added: “He didn’t talk about the Euros, preferring to talk golf.

"He happily signed autographs and posed for photographs before heading off.”

The Real Madrid forward, who plays off a handicap of six, then travelled an hour north where he played the Royal Dornoch course.
