AC Milan appoint Vincenzo Montella as new manager

Vincenzo Montella has been confirmed as the new manager of AC Milan.
Montella took charge of Sampdoria in November 2015, securing their Serie A status with six wins from his 26 games.
Meanwhile, Cristian Brocchi headed the finale of Milan's campaign, following the dismissal of Sinisa Mihajlovic in the Spring.
Brocchi oversaw the Rossoneri in the Coppa Italia final, which Mihajlovic had them to, with Milan falling 1-0 to Juventus, via an Alvaro Morata strike.
The 40-year-old's contract at the San Siro has not been renewed though, with Montella taking his place.
Indeed, the former Roma striker has penned a two-year deal – if he sees that out, it'd make him the longest-serving Milan boss since Massimiliano Allegri was dismissed in 2014.
Montella is now taking on the fifth first-team job of his coaching career, with a caretaker stint at Roma followed by spells with Catania and Fiorentina.
Milan finished in seventh position in Serie A this season, 23 points behind the coveted Champions League qualification places.
Silvio Berlusconi's club have now gone five years without a trophy, having last won the Italian top-flight in 2010/11.
