After completing a £20million deal for Ilkay Gundogan, Pep Guardiola has grandiose plans for the club.
Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte is expected to follow suit and move to the Etihad.
And according to the Manchester Evening News, Guardiola wants to land a midfielder, a centre-back, two full-backs and a striker before the window closes.
Toni Kroos and Paul Pogba, the report suggests are both on Guardiola’s radar.
Across the road, reports emerged suggesting Jose Mourinho had sanctioned a British record £60m bid for Pogba.
The Sun claim an initial £48m bid was lodged for the Frenchman, with £12m in add-ons taking the offer to £60m.
Guardiola is thought to be wanting a £200m transfer budget which would equal the warchest Mourinho is likely to be given, and isn’t prepared to see Pogba join the red half of Manchester.
It is also thought that Schalke star Leroy Sane is also being kept tabs on.
And though Kelechi Iheanacho impressed under Manuel Pellegrini last term, Guardiola is thought to be looking for more cover for Sergio Aguero which could push Wilfried Bony towards the exit door.
