Rummenigge rules out Lewandowski sale
Bayern München CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has ruled out the possibility of selling striker Robert Lewandowski to Real Madrid, after the player confirmed he had held talks with the Spanish giants.

Rummenigge has moved quickly to dispel suggestions the Poland international could be sold in the off-season, saying he has no doubt Lewandowski will be at the Allianz Arena next season.

"One thing I know for sure — Robert Lewandowski will play at Bayern Munich in the coming season," Rummenigge told kicker.

"The decision has been made. We will not sell Robert Lewandowski. No matter which offer we will receive. There is no pain barrier."

While Rummenigge is adamant the striker is going nowhere, Lewandowski appears to have a different view on matters.

Speaking to German news magazine Spiegel, Lewandowski said: "Contracts are not a holy relic in football.

"You can like this attitude or not but it's the truth. Sometimes you have to think about if it is meaningful to try out a new impulse."

Lewandowski's agent, Cezary Kucharski, revealed: "Real Madrid contacted us a few weeks ago, we listened to everything they said. It's a big and exciting club.

"We have informed FC Bayern that we've held talks with Madrid."

The former Dortmund frontman netted 30 Bundesliga goals in the recently concluded campaign, becoming the first non-German player to do so.
