Liverpool will hand Cameron Brannagan a new contract this summer, the Liverpool Echo report.
The midfielder enjoyed a breakthrough season at Anfield, making his debut in September and going onto make nine appearances.
He was given a new deal in October but given his progress, Liverpool are ready to offer him improved terms again as they look to secure his long-term future.
Brad Smith has told FourFourTwo that he is open to a loan move away from Liverpool if Jurgen Klopp thinks that is best for him.
The Australian made 10 appearances this season, including four in the Premier League.
Klopp is expected to sign at least one new left-back this summer and Smith is happy to go out and get more experience if needed.
He said: “Hopefully [I] do well at pre-season and stay at the club. But if not, [I’ll] speak to the manager and if he wants me to go out on loan and get experience I’m happy to do that as well.”
Liverpool will have to pay £45m if they want to sign Barcelona right-back Aleix Vidal, Mundo Deportivo and TV3 claim.
TV3 claim Vidal’s agent has offered the player to Klopp, despite Nathaniel Clyne impressing in his first season at Liverpool and Jon Flanagan being available as back-up.
But Barcelona do not want to sell, particularly with first choice right-back Dani Alves set to depart, and will demand the monster fee should Liverpool look to do a deal.
