Robben: It’s been difficult for me
FC Bayern München winger Arjen Robben has vowed to return “stronger than ever” following an injury-ravaged campaign this season.

The Dutchman was known as the ‘glass man’ due to his injury history at his former clubs but, after a €25 million move to the Bavarian giants from Real Madrid, his status as a world-class forward has been enhanced in recent years, scoring 108 goals in six seasons at the Bundesliga club.

However, this campaign has been a struggle for the Netherlands international, making only 15 league appearances and scoring four goals – watching his team win their fourth consecutive Bundesliga title.

“I promise that I will return stronger than ever before,” Robben told AZ. “It has been a very difficult time for me mentally.

“You always want to help the team as a player. It’s the worst thing possible when you are forced to watch on from the sidelines.

“Next season is very important for me.”
