St. Mirren vs Glasgow Rangers - Scott Agnew misses Rangers clash

St Mirren are without Scott Agnew when they host Scottish Championship winners Rangers.

The midfielder is suffering from a groin injury and is unavailable as St Mirren look to bounce back from last week's defeat at Dumbarton.

Manager Alex Rae reckons Gers' recent dip in results will make securing a win even more difficult.

He explained: "Rangers will not want to end their season on a four-game run without a win. They have a Scottish Cup final coming up and they will want to be going into that with confidence restored.

"We will face a tough afternoon however if we can add a more ruthless edge to the form we showed in the first half against Dumbarton last weekend we can get something."

Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn will bring his 10-week injury lay-off to an end on Sunday.

The Englishman will make his comeback from a knee problem as he looks to build up his fitness ahead of the William Hill Scottish Cup final against Hibernian at Hampden on May 21.

"It's been tough," Waghorn admitted. "The boys won the league without me, the Petrofac Cup too and the semi-final against Celtic.

"The Celtic match would have been the biggest game of my career to date. But you just have to deal with it. I've been desperate to get back and I'm looking forward to Sunday."

Harry Forrester (broken leg) and long-term absentee David Templeton (knee) remain out.
