Caen 0 - 0 Bastia: Caen draw a blank despite dominating display against Bastia
Posted Sunday, May 01, 2016 by PA
Caen were left without a Ligue 1 win in five matches after they were held to a goalless draw at home by a dogged Bastia side.
Jean-Louis Leca proved to be Bastia's first-half saviour as the visiting goalkeeper did superbly to deny Julien Feret inside 60 seconds before superbly keeping out Jeff Louis and Andy Delort.
Caen continued to create the better chances in the second half but Ronny Rodelin dragged a decent chance wide of the goal before Julien Feret fired straight at Leca after Jonathan Delaplace had picked him out.
Ismael Diomande almost stole all three points late on for Bastia when faced only with Remy Vercoutre but, after his shot beat the Caen keeper, the upright came to the hosts' rescue.
