Southend United vs Bradford AFC - Southend set for double boost ahead of Bantams' visit

Southend are set for a double attacking boost ahead of their Sky Bet League One game at home to Bradford.

Strikers Noel Hunt and David Mooney are both in contention after returning from knee and ankle injuries respectively.

Mooney came off the bench in the defeat to Wigan last weekend but Hunt has not played competitively in eight weeks.

Midfield trio Myles Weston (calf), Anthony Wordsworth (groin) and Michael Timlin (knee) are all out, with the Shrimpers sitting 13th in the table.

Bradford defender Reece Burke and midfielder Lee Evans are both expected to overcome injury in time to feature.

The on-loan West Ham centre-half, voted Bradford's player of the year this week, had struggled with a calf strain before being forced out of last week's home win against Walsall with a tight hamstring and Evans has nursed a slight knee problem.

Winger Wes Thomas is expected to return to contention after being laid low by a virus but striker Steven Davies serves the second game of a three-match ban.

Filipe Morais, who scored in his first start of the season last week, could start up front alongside hat-trick hero James Hanson again as the Bantams bid to seal their place in the play-offs.
