Two Liverpool fans were to blame when a flight to Spain was forced into an emergency landing in France on Thursday.
The duo were believed to be on their way to witnessing the Reds' Europa League semi-final with Villarreal at Estadio El Madrigal when the Ryanair flight stopped in Limoges, France after the Flight Commander ordered their removal.
"[The supporters] wre particularly drunk and upset. Due to their drunken state and the difficulty in understanding them, it is unclear if they were planning on attending the football match, or the reason for their travel," recalled police sources.
Following the incident, the flight safely landed in Alicante with the remaining passengers onboard.
