Bayern reignite Odegaard interest
FC Bayern München sporting director Matthias Sammer has confirmed the club is in contact with Real Madrid over the future of young star Martin Odegaard.

The Bundesliga giants were one of a number of top European clubs interested in signing the 17-year-old from Stromsgodset last year before Odegaard eventually chose Los Blancos.

However, the wonderkid, who has already earned nine caps with the Norway, has only managed one appearance for Real this season, and Bayern are interested in renewing their pursuit of the winger, but no formal offer has been presented yet.

“Of course we’re in contact, but that’s not up for debate,” Sammer told Sky Sport Deutschland. “His decision to sign for Madrid must be respected. He’s a great player, but we haven’t made any attempt to sign him.”

The biggest concern for Odegaard at this stage of his career is the fact he has lost his place with the Norway team after so far failing to make an impact at the Bernabeu.

His head could easily be turned by an offer of regular first-team football, especially if it is at a club like Bayern, who have shown a willingness to give youngsters a chance in the first team this season. The faith they have shown has paid off spectacularly and allowed the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Kingsley Coman to shine this term.
