Man Utd stunned as Jose Mourinho reaches agreement with Valencia to succeed Gary Neville
Valencia are keen for Jose Mourinho to become their next permanent boss

The Portuguese boss has been out of work since his sacking by Chelsea in December.

Mourinho has been widely tipped to take over from Louis van Gaal at the end of the season following the Dutchman’s disappointing campaign.

But sensational claims from The Sun suggest Valencia are planning to hijack a move for 53-year-old.

The Spanish outfit sacked Gary Neville yesterday after the former United defender recorded eight defeats in 16 La Liga games.

Assistant coach Pako Ayestaran has been announced as his interim replacement.

But Valencia are keen for Mourinho to become their next permanent boss with reports suggesting talks between the club’s officials and Mourinho’s agent, Jorge Mendes, have been ongoing for months.

Mendes is a close friend of Valencia owner Peter Lim and it is understood an agreement has been reached on a deal.

Lim is a big admirer of Mourinho’s work and sees him as the ideal manager to get Valencia competing with the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid for European titles.

The billionaire is said to be ready to offer Mourinho a contract worth £15million a year and hand him a transfer kitty of £100m.
