Signed for big bucks from Inter Milan last summer, Mateo Kovacic hasn’t made the impact that many at Real Madrid hoped he would. Not to say that he’s been bad. He’s been overshadowed.
Casemiro has been so impressive in the centre of the park that it’s hard for Kovacic to get a look in.
That’s why he might be shipped out this summer. AS are reporting that Spurs and Sevilla are in the race for his signature with a temporary deal looking likelier than a permanent switch.
Only 21 years old, Kovacic would be a huge signing for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, especially with the added squad demands of Champions League football. That might sway him over to White Hart Lane.
Spurs have a good business relationship with Madrid after selling Gareth Bale and Luka Modric in the last few years, they might be hoping that those two would convince Kovacic to come to London too.
