Alloa Athletic 0 - 1 St. Mirren: Keith Watson snatches winner as St Mirren edge past Alloa
Posted Sunday, March 27, 2016 by PA
Keith Watson struck a late winner as St Mirren ensured Alloa are still searching for their first home win of the season in the Scottish Championship with a 1-0 victory at Recreation Park.
An inspired display from Saints goalkeeper Jamie Langfield had kept the score goalless before Watson produced a composed finish five minutes from time.
Alloa, who have picked up just four points on home soil, made a bright start with Michael Duffy having a shot from the edge of the box comfortably saved by Langfield.
The visitors responded, Alex Cooper's long-range strike being held by Scott Gallacher, before Dougie Hill nodded a free-kick inches wide for Alloa.
Langfield saved from Duffy (twice) and Robbie Crawford while at the other end Calum Gallagher's header was kept out by Gallacher
Watson also cleared Iain Flannigan's effort off the line following a scramble before popping up with the clincher to extend Alloa's winless streak to 11 games.
