Marcus Rashford set for new Manchester United contract – report

Manchester United are considering offering a new long-term deal to Marcus Rashford, according to reports.
Rashford has enjoyed a remarkable rise to prominence this season, scoring five goals in eight games since his debut for the club last month.
His latest strike came against Manchester City in the derby at the Etihad last week and it was a goal that firmly established him as a fans’ favourite among Man United fans.
United reportedly wanted to wait until the summer to open contract talks with Rashford but his form has forced them to bring forward their plans.
Rashford currently earns around £1,000-a-week at Old Trafford but his new deal will see him rewarded with a wage packet of £15,000-a-week.
The 18-year-old has been superb for United in recent weeks but perhaps the club are being a little too hasty by offering him a contract now. There is a risk that Rashford could think he has ‘made it’ and take his foot off the gas as a result.
