Bayern Munich have tied up a deal to sign highly-rated Rennes forward Ousmane Dembele, according to reports, but will loan out the 18-year-old to the Ligue 1 side for another season.
The winger has been attracting plenty of interest recently from sides across Europe and a recent hat-trick in Ligue 1 against Nantes certainly raised his profile that bit more.
Despite links with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail, it appears Bayern Munich may have fended off the competition to sign the Vernon-born forward.
According to beIN Sport (via Robin Bairner) a deal has been agreed between Bayern and Rennes - despite Pep Guardiola's imminent departure this summer - which will see Dembele join the club at the start of the 2017/18 season.
Despite the reports, journalist Ed Aarons understands Dembele's agent has refused to comment on the speculation.
Guardiola's departure for Manchester City this summer would indicate that Dembele is most likely a signing made by Carlo Ancelotti, who will replace Guardiola at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern have some of the world's finest young players in their ranks, with the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Kingsley Coman making plenty of headlines this season.
Dembele joined Rennes back in 2010 and after four years with their youth team, he made his first-team breakthrough in 2015. The striker has netted ten goals in 21 league games this season and it is that sort of form which has prompted widespread interest in his services.
