Werder Bremen 4 - 1 Hannover 96: Thomas Schaaf endures a miserable return to Werder Bremen

Werder Bremen compounded Hannover's woes and made it a miserable return to the Weserstadion for Thomas Schaaf with a 4-1 win - their first at home since August.
Fin Bartels put the hosts in front after 18 minutes before the in-form Claudio Pizarro scored his 10th Bundesliga goal in 2016 to make it two soon after.
Kenan Karaman brought the Reds back into the game on the stroke of half-time, but Theodor Gebre-Selassie restored Bremen's two-goal cushion 10 minutes into the second half with a shot which arrowed across Ron-Robert Zieler and into the far left-hand corner of his goal after good work from Pizarro.
Zlatko Junuzovic made it 4-1 with a volley from just outside the penalty area from Gebre-Selassie's pass, allowing Bremen to pull away from the bottom three and leave Hannover, who have now lost 10 of their last 11, rooted to the bottom of the Bundesliga, eight points from safety.
