Las Palmas 4 - 0 Getafe: Tana nets brace as Las Palmas see off Getafe

Las Palmas boosted their bid to avoid relegation by thrashing fellow Primera Division strugglers Getafe 4-0.

An early strike from Willian Jose and a penalty from top-scorer Jonathan Viera put them in charge at half-time, and a double from midfielder Tana after the break set up the hosts' biggest victory of the season.

While Getafe were unlucky to lose 1-0 to Celta last weekend, they were well beaten at the Estadio Gran Canaria and had debutant Alvaro Pereira sent off midway through the second half.

A second consecutive win for Quique Setien's side takes them one point above the Madrid outfit, who have suddenly slipped into the relegation battle following seven consecutive defeats.

In-form forward Willian Jose gave Las Palmas a dream start by turning in David Garcia's cross after just eight minutes.

A handball by Mehdi Lacen gifted the hosts the chance to double their lead around the half-hour mark, which Viera duly took by sending Vicente Guaita the wrong way from the spot to grab his sixth goal of the season.

Tana extended Las Palmas' lead three minutes into the second half after exchanging passes with Viera in the area.

And the 25-year-old completed a miserable night for Getafe after Pereira had been sent off, finishing off Momo's pass.
