Vidal chose Bayern over England

Former Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has revealed he turned down a very lucrative offer to join a club in the English Premier League in favour of Bayern München.
The Chile international did not mention specifically which club he would have been joining, but Manchester United seems like the most likely candidate after he had been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford during the 2015 off-season transfer window.
"Yes, there was a chance to come to England," Vidal told The Times. "It was last summer, and at one point, we thought that is what would happen. I liked the opportunity that they had offered me.
"But eventually it did not happen and I chose to come to Bayern. There are always many teams around that go to my agent."
Vidal says he has no regrets about choosing the Bavarians as the strength of the squad and the ambitions of the club match his own desire to succeed at the highest level.
"I wanted to come to a team this strong and to a project that is so ambitious. I feel very happy. It helped that I knew what the country was like and what the people were like," he explained.
"We are better, me and my wife and my children. Life is good, very calm. We are starting to feel more comfortable."
