Eden Hazard doesn’t think Zinedine Zidane is a top manager

Eden Hazard has put a potential move to Real Madrid into doubt by declaring he wants to work with the best managers in the world - and Zinedine Zidane isn't one of them.

Madrid have been a long-term admirer of the Chelsea winger and it is presumed Los Blancos consider Hazard the perfect replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Hazard cast his Chelsea future in doubt by admitting to Le Parisien that it would be difficult to turn down Paris Saint-Germain should the French club come calling, but it seems the Belgian is only interested in working under the world's best managers.

Zidane is new to the managerial scene, having taken over from Rafa Benitez in January, and it's his inexperience that Hazard considers a problem.

"I want to work with the best managers in the world," the 25-year-old told Le Parisien, as reported by Sport.

"I don't know if Zidane is part of that category, he's only been training Madrid since January."

WORDS OF WISDOM

It seems odd that Hazard is willing to turn down Madrid due to the Frenchman's lack of experience. After all, Zidane will go down as one of the greatest footballers in history and no doubt has an abundance of wisdom he can pass on to Hazard.

In his six games in charge, Madrid have won fives times. Zidane has also got the best out of his attackers - Los Blancos have scored 23 goals in the 43-year-old's reign.

NO CHAMPIONS LEAGUE ON OFFER

Madrid also have the appeal of being an elite side who are Champions League contenders each season, while Chelsea, 12th in the Premier League, look set to miss out on European competition next year.

That said, it remains to be seen if Hazard's indifferent season will put off potential suitors, who will have to pay a hefty price for his services. The winger has scored only one goal - a penalty - and doesn't look close to the player who won Premier League Player of the Season honours last term.

PSG INTEREST

Whether his form has contributed to Hazard admitting his interest in a move to PSG isn't sure. The former Lille man raised concerns by admitting to Le Parisien: "[It is] difficult to say no to PSG, or to any of the teams capable of winning the Champions League," reported the Guardian.

"PSG are now in that category. And for me, winning the Champions League is my main aim."

Despite backtracking by saying a move from Stamford Bridge hasn't crossed his mind, Hazard couldn't have timed his comments any worse. The Blues take on PSG in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday and all eyes will be on the winger.

If he fails to shine, Chelsea fans will likely accuse Hazard of a lack of effort, or a clear sign that he is eager to sign for the Ligue 1 club.
