Stranraer vs Albion Rovers FC - Blues boosted by Gibson return

Stranraer have Willie Gibson back in contention as they look to defeat visitors Albion Rovers and move back above the Coatbridge men in the table.

Gibson returns to availability after suspension but Scott Rumsby misses out with a ban while Stevie Bell and Mark McGuigan both struggling to be fit after being ill earlier in the week.

Injuries continue to rule out goalkeeper David McGurn (broken toe), Lee Mair (groin) and Chris Aitken (calf) but David Barron looks set to return.

"We could be a bit low on numbers but we are playing a side we defeated earlier this month and we will take confidence from that," said Stranraer manager Brian Reid ahead of the match.

Rovers will look to build on their midweek 2-1 success against Cowdenbeath with only Paul Willis, who has a groin strain, unavailable to player/boss Darren Young.

The win at Central Park ended a run of four defeats and Young said: "It was a scrappy success on a horrible pitch but it was important as it put us back into the play-off mix.

"Stranraer won at our place recently but we made and missed a lot of chances in that game. We also had a good goal disallowed and were not awarded a penalty.

"We can therefore be confident about winning at Stair Park and bouncing back from that result."
