Bojan signs on at Britannia Stadium

The 25-year-old forward has become a key member for the Potters since his arrival from Barcelona during the 2014 off-season transfer window.

Bojan's debut season ended prematurely in January 2015 when he sustained a serious knee injury against Rochdale in the FA Cup fourth round.

But the Spaniard made his comeback in July last year and has scored five goals in 19 Premier League appearances for Hughes' side this term.

Bojan continues to be grateful for being given the chance to ply his trade in England and revealed his excellent relationship with the club and their fans was crucial to him signing on at the Britannia Stadium.

"[Manager] Mark Hughes convinced me to come to Stoke, he has helped me and shown his trust in me from the beginning, he followed closely the recovery process from my injury, and there is no doubt I have signed an extension of my contract thanks to him," he told the club's official website.

"They [the Stoke fans] always support me. On the pitch, when I was injured, every time I leave the stadium. They are passionate and I can proudly say that my team-mates and I feel their warmth and their support every single day.

"That is very important for me and encourages me to keep improving and trying to give my best."

Stoke chief executive Tony Scholes added: "Bojan has made no secret of the fact that he now regards Stoke as his home in a football sense.

"When he joined us he made it clear that he wanted a period of stability in his career. It's obvious that he has found what he was looking for with us and we're understandably thrilled he has signed a long-term contract."
