Max Eberl admits Borussia MG will look to sign Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen on a permanent basis after his loan deal expires.
The 19-year-old is currently on a two-year loan deal from the Blues and the club's sporting director says they are keen to keep the Denmark international as he has become an integral part of manager Andre Schubert's plans.
Since the arrival of Schubert in September, the central defender has not missed a single minute for Die Borussen, and he opened his account for the club in their 5-1 mauling of Bremen last Friday.
"Our intention is to try and get into talks with Chelsea in the summer," Eberl told German publication Kicker.
"Andreas fulfils everything we've seen in him. And we are delighted that we were able to take him on loan without any ifs and buts.
"I would welcome it if he were to stay here for a long time."
The player himself believes a switch beyond his current deal is possible.
"I am very happy," he told reporters. "I will give it my best in the two years here, and see what the future has in store for me.
"It's of no use to return [to Chelsea] if I don't get any playing time there. A lot can happen."
Since joining Borussia MG Christensen has helped the club surge up to sixth place in the Bundesliga table after their poor start to the campaign.
