The Chilean, who recently returned to action after a two month lay-off with a hamstring injury, has been a roaring success for the Gunners since joining in a £32million deal from Barcelona in 2014.
Sanchez, who has established himself as one of the Premier League's best performers, is currently on a deal worth £130,000-a-week.
But according to football outlet Football Insider, the Gunners have made tying down Sanchez to a new deal a top priority.
The report suggests preliminary discussions have taken place over a five-and-a-half-year contract worth a staggering £51.5m.
It is believed the Gunners are keen to secure more lucrative deals for their top stars aged under 30.
More significantly, Sanchez wants to be paid the same as the club's top earner Mesut Ozil, who earns £180,000-a-week.
Sanchez's current deal expires in the summer of 2018.
