Atalanta and Empoli shared the spoils from a disappointing goalless draw at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia.
Neither side could trouble the scoreboard in rainy Bergamo, with both clubs left frustrated in their quests to secure overdue Serie A wins.
Atalanta edged the first half, with Alejandro Gomez blasting over the bar and Mauricio Pinilla shooting wide from a one-on-one with Lukazs Skorupski.
Empoli hit a post through Riccardo Saponara when play resumed, but Atalanta soon picked up their assault and were unlucky to miss the mark when Alessandro Diamanti intercepted a poor backpass from Mario Rui and let fly.
