US Sassuolo Calcio 2 - 2 Palermo: Palermo hit back to earn point
Posted Monday, February 08, 2016 by PA
Ten-man Palermo held out for a point from a frenetic 2-2 Serie A draw at Sassuolo.
The Sicilians took the lead through Franco Vazquez after 30 minutes in Reggio Emilia, but seventh-placed Sassuolo equalised courtesy of Gregoire Defrel on the stroke of half-time.
Simone Missiroli turned the game on its head with Sassuolo's second goal on 50 minutes, only for Uros Djurdjevic to drag Palermo back into the match with a header three minutes later.
Achraf Lazaar's dismissal for a second yellow card in the 75th minute left Palermo vulnerable, but they somehow managed to keep their hosts at bay.
