Jose Mourinho on brink of completing stunning Man United deal, will take over in summer

NEW JOB: Mourinho is set to become the new United boss
United were rocked by the news that bitter rivals City had snapped up Pep Guardiola earlier this week and are eager to hit back with their own blockbuster deal.
Van Gaal has been under immense pressure throughout the current campaign and his days look numbered at Old Trafford.
Now The Daily Mail claim that Mourinho is closing in on securing his new job as manager of the Red Devils.
The reports state that no deal has been signed yet but the Special One has 'his heart set' on taking over from LVG.
Van Gaal's tactics and style have been called into question consistently this term and United will look to replace the Dutchman in the summer with Mourinho likely to be a huge hit with the fans.
The two-time Champions League winning boss has been out of work since being axed by Chelsea in December.
Despite a torrid last few months at the Blues helm, the 53-year-old Portuguese is eager to stay in the Premier League.
AXE: Van Gaal looks set to leave United
He has reportedly had offers from his old side Real Madrid over a return to Spain while clubs in China have also declared their interest.
But it is understood that Mourinho has rejected any such approaches in favour of landing his dream job at United.
Sources close to the former Porto chief have suggested that he would be reluctant to take the role in the middle of the campaign.
Instead, he will wait until the summer to replace Van Gaal, similar to the deal that City have with Guardiola.
