Dani Alves on Neymar, Zidane, and Madrid
Barcelona right-back Dani Alves has given his view on a number of topics, including a new deal for teammate Neymar and archrivals Real Madrid under Zinedine Zidane.

The 32-year-old Brazil international weighed in on the recent speculation surrounding compatriot Neymar, who has recently been linked with a big-money move to Manchester United.

"No one is able to do the things he can," he told Onda Cero of the former Santos star. "The Brazilians who have played here have always fared extremely well. They must give him a new deal, they'd be mad not to. Neymar will be the one to succeed Messi.

"When he was thinking about going to play somewhere else, I told him to look back in time at the other Brazilians who have played here, whether they'd been successful here or not, and how they had subsequently got on at other clubs."

Some reports have even linked Neymar with Real Madrid, and Alves has freely admitted that he came close to signing for Los Blancos, but now has some rather antagonistic feelings towards the capital club.

"I've never made any secret of the fact that I very nearly signed for Real Madrid, but my destiny changed," he said.

"We're professionals, not supporters. I'm a Bahia and São Paulo fan. All that I've been through with this club means that I love the club, just like I loved Sevilla, but come off it, we're not like the supporters.

"Zidane's Madrid, Mourinho's, Ancelotti's, Benítez's, they're never going to go away, they'll always be there p*****g us off. They're a team that has been built with the idea of going for titles. They've got quality and are capable of everything."
