Ljajic: ‘I hope to stay at Inter’
Inter Milan midfielder Adem Ljajic, on loan from Serie A rivals Roma, is hoping to make his stay at San Siro permanent at the end of the season.

The Serbian playmaker has scored twice in 19 league appearances for the Nerazzurri, who are fourth in the standings, three points above his parent club.

The former Partizan Belgrade prodigy has been in Italy since 2010, first with Fiorentina and then with the Giallorossi, but seems to have settled at San Siro.

"I hope to stay at Inter but it's still too soon to say," he told Inter Channel. "What matters is the team plays well. The management will make that call but I'd like to stay and I hope I can.

"I get on really well with my teammates and the coach, first and foremost we've got a great group. I've got a good relationship with the supporters, just like with all my team-mates."

Inter started the campaign as Scudetto hopefuls but have fallen off the pace in recent weeks, with Wednesday's win over Chievo Verona their first victory in their last five games, as they currently sit nine points behind league leaders Napoli.

"You go through tough times in football," the 24-year-old added. "Other clubs' form dropped off a bit over the first three or four months and it's happened to us recently.

"We must keep working well in training every day to come through it. I hope yesterday's victory can help to spark a winning run. Lots of teams close down the space well against us and we have to find a way of winning games."

Inter are back in Serie A action on Sunday, when they take on Hellas Verona at Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi.
