The noise and rumour mill surrounding Jose Mourinho’s likelihood of taking over at Manchester United is simply becoming too loud to ignore.
Earlier today, we reported on the claims from a Sky Italia journalist whp revealed that an agreement between Jose Mourinho and Manchester United was close.
On Thursday evening, El Confidencial, a Spanish broadsheet, have reported that Jose Mourinho has already signed an agreement to take over at Man United.
El Confidencial and Sky Italia are good sources of information, the former, for example, was the first, by some distance, to report that Diego Costa would sign for Chelsea from Atletico Madrid.
Tonight, Kike Marin of El Confidencial writes that the Mourinho to Manchester United report comes from “well informed sources” in Portugal.
Super-agent Jorge Mendes, who represents Jose Mourinho, has strong links with Manchester United and the only question is when The Special One will arrive at Old Trafford.
If Louis van Gaal continues to coach Manchester United to patchy results, Mourinho will be in charge of the club soon. If not, then the former Chelsea boss will arrive in June.
For much of the introduction to the article and in the latter part, Marin points out how Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho will be working in close proximity to one another again.
And, part of Manchester United’s motivation for bringing Jose Mourinho to Old Trafford is to stand up to Pep Guardiola and the riches of Manchester City.
English football should be licking its lips for a stunning show on and off the pitch if Mourinho does end up at Manchester United to take on Guardiola at City….
