Neymar Sr puts son in the clear

Neymar's father exonerated his son in his statement to the National Court (Audiencia Nacional), stressing the forward had nothing to do with the management side of his transfer to Barcelona, which is under investigation with regard to alleged fraud and corruption.

According to sources for the defence, the player's father appeared before the judge for two and a half hours and went through each point contained in the contracts that brought his son to Barcelona in 2013.

This is not the first time Neymar's father has appeared in the dock, the first back in October 2014 as part of the proceedings related to an initial investigation over alleged tax offences.

This time round, he was on trial for crimes of fraud and corruption pertaining to the case brought by Brazilian investment fund DIS.
