Shrewsbury Town vs Oldham Athletic AFC - Mixed Shrews news for manager Micky Mellon

Micky Mellon has mixed news on the injury front as Shrewsbury prepare for their home game against Oldham.

Midfielder Abu Ogogo, who had not played since the Shrews lost 7-1 to Chesterfield in early January, is looking to get back into training by Thursday after hamstring problems.

Defender Jermaine Grandison is, however, a doubt for Tuesday's fixture, with manager Mellon saying he picked up a knee injury on Friday.

Meanwhile, Mellon is also understood to be hopeful of a second loan spell for winger Sullay Kaikai, who was recalled by parent club Crystal Palace in December having thrilled Shrews fans during his three-month stay where he also scored five goals.

Oldham will travel to the Greenhous Meadow without suspended defender Connor Brown.

The defender is serving the second of a three-match ban after he was given his marching orders in the first half of the 1-0 defeat to Bradford.

On-loan Burton youngster Matt Palmer will be hoping to keep his place in the starting XI after he impressed on his debut against Bury at the weekend, while manager John Sheridan is keen to bring in further reinforcements.

He told the club's official website: "I know I need three players. It's not a case of me going out and panicking but I know we need them urgently. I've been working non-stop to try and get them in but we need to make sure they are a bit different to what we've already got."
