Hertha BSC Berlin 0 - 0 Augsburg: Hertha Berlin and Augsburg share points at Olympiastadion

Hertha Berlin and Augsburg, the Bundesliga's two form teams before the winter break, shared the spoils from a 0-0 draw in the German capital on Saturday.
The two teams returned to league action lethargically at the Olympiastadion and, while they managed to extend their respective three and five-game unbeaten streaks, neither side will be particularly happy.
Hertha cement their top-three spot while 13th-placed Augsburg remain the same distance above the relegation zone they were before kick-off.
Caiuby twice brought instinctive saves out of Rune Jarstein as Augsburg made a bright start in wintry conditions.
Daniel Baier then flashed a header wide of the far post as Augsburg continued to pose a considerable threat on the counter-attack.
Most of the chances continued to fall the Bavarians' way, although Hertha were making a game of it too with Vedad Ibisevic wasting their best chance with a weak finish.
The biggest chance of the game was squandered by Augsburg's Raul Bobadilla, who fired his shot wide having done the hard work in skipping past Berlin's last defender.
It could have earned Augsburg a new club record fourth straight away win, but they instead had to settle for a point, which keeps them six clear of the drop zone.
Berlin climb out of the reach of fourth-placed Borussia Monchengladbach, but will rue an opportunity wasted in view of their excellent home record of having won six of their previous seven at the Olympiastadion.
