Sporting de Gijon 5 - 1 Real Sociedad: Antonio Sanabria treble helps Sporting Gijon rout Real Sociedad

Antonio Sanabria scored a hat-trick as Sporting Gijon climbed out of the Primera Division relegation zone with a 5-1 defeat of Real Sociedad which included an opening goal after just 15 seconds.

Carlos Carmona and Dani Ndi also got on the scoresheet for the home side, who had been defeated by Real Madrid by the same scoreline five days before.

Carlos Vela had reduced the deficit to 2-1 in the first half but his side were well beaten at Estadio Municipal El Molinon for a result which leaves La Real three points and four places above their opponents who have climbed up to 17th in the table.

Carmona scored his first goal of the season when Geronimo Rulli's mistake gifted him the ball, sweeping home after just 15 seconds when the keeper failed to hold a low cross.

Dani Ndi added a second eight minutes later when he made the most of some poor defending by the visitors to head in from close range for his first goal for the club.

La Real created little in the first half before Vela pulled a goal back with 37 minutes gone.

Ivan Cuellar had saved from Aritz Elustondo, who collided with the post after heading Vela's free-kick straight at the keeper, but Gijon failed to properly clear the danger and when the ball was delivered back into the area Vela whipped in a shot with his team-mate still lying injured next to the post.

But the home side restored their two-goal lead a couple of minutes before the break when Sanabria rounded Rulli to slot home.

Sanabria added his side's fourth after 52 minutes and Rulli was again at fault. He pushed a shot into the path of Sanabria and the Paraguay international, on loan from Roma, had a simple tap-in.

Sanabria completed his hat-trick with nine minutes to go when he cut inside a defender to shoot home from the edge of the area after a fine through ball from substitute Alen Halilovic, the Croatian midfielder on loan from Barcelona.
