Plymouth stayed top of Sky Bet League Two following a 3-2 home win over Stevenage.

Goals flowed at Home Park where defensive midfielder Carl McHugh headed the Greens into a third-minute lead from a Jake Jervis corner.

Charlie Lee levelled with a shot at the far post as Plymouth failed to clear Tom Conlon's sixth-minute corner.

Argyle responded with Jervis again the provider in the 16th minute. His cross was met at the near post with a bullet header from recalled winger Gregg Wylde - his second goal in two games.

Ronnie Henry's clearance clattered off the crossbar after striking Fraser Franks and Boro goalkeeper Chris Day did well to palm away Reuben Reid's goal-bound strike.

Argyle swept into a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes as McHugh teed-up on-loan Reading winger Craig Tanner to curl an 18-yard shot past a diving Day.

Lee slid in to score his second in the 49th minute from a cross by substitute Dean Parrett, who spent a loan spell at Plymouth earlier in his career.

Tanner and Wylde both came closing to doubling their tally in the second half.
