Leyton Orient 1 - 3 Exeter City: Orient pay penalty in Exeter defeat

Exeter went behind after 28 seconds but battled back to earn a 3-1 win at Leyton Orient thanks to Jayden Stockley's brace.

All four goals came in the first half and the Grecians even had the luxury of being able to concede two second-half penalties without paying the price.

Ollie Palmer put the home side ahead when he chested home a cross by Jobi McAnuff but shambolic defending by Orient gifted the game to their opponents.

Stockley, who joined Exeter on loan from Bournemouth at the start of the week, levelled in the 14th minute when he headed home a cross after being left unmarked, and they were ahead nine minutes later when Tom Nichols scored from an Alex Nicholls cross.

Stockley then exploited further awful defending when he scored his second close-range goal by stabbing home a Danny Butterfield cross in the 32nd minute.

Orient enjoyed greater possession after the break without looking threatening in open play and they were left to rue two penalty misses in the space of five minutes late on.

Butterfield committed the fouls for both but Jay Simpson thundered his first attempt against a post and Bobby Olejnik dived to his right to produce a fine save from Simpson's second spot-kick.
