Mario Gotze insists he won't be leaving Bayern Munich this month
That is according to Bundesliga expert Raphael Honigstein.
Reports have suggested that the Reds are readying a £37million bid for the 23-year-old.
Jurgen Klopp, who worked with Gotze for five years at Borussia Dortmund, is keen to make some reinforcements.
But Honingstein thinks Liverpool will struggle to land Gotze this month.
He said: "It could happen but in the summer. Gotze wants to talk to Ancelotti first."
When asked about the Anfield outfit's reported interest in him, Gotze said: "I can definitely confirm that I will not be leaving the club this winter."
"I have a contract until 2017, I'm happy. But of course, what could happen beyond the summer makes you think."
"I would love to work under Carlo Ancelotti. Toni Kross has told me only good things. Under Klopp I learnt a lot. He is a smashing coach."
