Newport vs Hartlepool - Nathan Ralph and Yan Klukowski in Newport frame against Hartlepool
Posted Thursday, December 31, 2015 by PA
Newport manager John Sheridan could hand starts to midfield duo Nathan Ralph and Yan Klukowski against Hartlepool.
Ralph (cheekbone) and Klukowski (hamstring) were both absentees in Monday's 2-1 defeat to league leaders Plymouth but Sheridan, whose side are winless in four games, may hand starts to both players.
Medy Elito serves the second game of his three-match suspension.
Scott Barrow played 70 minutes in his return to the line-up and could retain his place in the starting XI.
Hartlepool are preparing for their first game since December 19 after their last two fixtures were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
Defender Carl Magnay has been struggling with a groin injury sustained in the FA Cup replay win against Salford earlier this month and remains doubtful.
Full-back Michael Duckworth will play no part due to a stomach strain which has ruled him out of the last two matches, while striker Billy Paynter (Achilles) is hoping to return to action in February.
On-loan trio Kal Naismith (Portsmouth), Adam Jackson (Middlesbrough) and Jake Gray (Crystal Palace) are scheduled to return to their parent clubs after the game.
