Liverpool are reportedly considering an £18m bid for Giuseppe Rossi

The Reds have been linked to a number of attacking players in recent weeks including Mauro Icardi and Adrien Rabiot.

But Jurgen Klopp will now turn his attentions to bringing Rossi back to the Premier League.

Rossi featured 14 times for Manchester United in his younger playing days before moving to Villarreal in 2007.

But Liverpool are keen to give him another chance in England by making an £18m bid in January, according to Italian

publication ItaSportPress.

The Italian is struggling to secure a regular place in Fiorentina's starting XI having missed last season with a cruciate

ligament injury.

Rossi has found the net twice for Fiorentina this term in the Europa League but is yet to open his account in Serie A.

The 28-year-old is targeting a place in Italy's Euro 2016 squad next summer and his agent Andrea Pastorello admits he needs

regular playing time to boost his chances of selection.

He said: "He's like a dog chasing his tail.

"To be a top player he has to get back to full fitness, but to do that he needs to play consistently.

"It’s a thought, nothing more. It’s absolutely not a problem or a controversy, but there’s no doubt that if he doesn’t

play it’ll be difficult for him to get back to being the top player he is."
