Genoa 1 - 2 Carpi: Cristian Zaccardo nets late Carpi winner at Genoa
Posted Monday, November 30, 2015 by PA
Carpi left the bottom of the Serie A table as Cristian Zaccardo's late winner downed Genoa 2-1 at the Marassi.
The sixth-minute dismissal of Leonardo Pavoletti did not help Carpi immediately as Genoa would open the scoring through Diogo Figueiras and his angled drive two minutes later.
It was not until the hour mark that the Biancorossi managed to level, former Genoa striker Marco Borriello equalising with a left-footed daisy-cutter.
It fell to World Cup-winning defender Zaccardo to book Carpi their first away win of the season. Borriello provided the 80th-minute pass that his veteran team-mate stuck past Mattia Perin.
