Juve ready to steal a march on Liverpool & Man United with €20m midfielder bid

According to reports from Turkish-Football, Juventus are preparing a January swoop for Liverpool and Manchester United target Ilkay Gundogan.
The German international was an integral component of the Borussia Dortmund side that claimed the 2012 Bundesliga title and reached the 2013 Champions League final under now-Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp, and is proving equally influential under successor Thomas Tuchel.
The midfielder came close to leaving Westfalenstadion during the summer as his contract entered its final year, amid interest from a plethora of top European clubs, but elected to extend his terms until the end of next season instead.
But that has only delayed the 25-year-old’s seemingly inevitable departure by twelve months and Gundogan’s long-term suitors are circling once again. He was linked with a Klopp reunion on Merseyside earlier this month, whilst German publication Express document interest from Manchester United.
According to Turkish-Football, however, Juventus are hoping to steal a march on the Premier League duo by launching a €20million bid in the January transfer window. They’re yet to truly replace the quality of Arturo Vidal and Andrea Pirlo, who left for Bayern Munich and the MLS respectively during the summer.
That figure is slightly short of Dortmund’s reported €25million valuation.
