The Blues are in the market for a proven striker, with Diego Costa failing to fire on all cylinders and Radamel Falcao tipped to leave Stamford Bridge.
Vardy has been in scintillating form for Leicester this season, plundering home 13 Premier League goals.
The 28-year-old will be looking to break Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Premier League record of scoring in 10 games on the trot when the Foxes host Manchester United tomorrow evening (5:30pm).
And according to the Daily Mirror, Vardy is one of several players under consideration by Chelsea.
It is thought the Blues have been impressed by his work rate, but are also keeping a close eye on other areas of his game to see if he could fit in the squad.
Meanwhile, Tottenham’s Mousa Dembele, who is thought to be valued at £20m, is also on the Blues’ radar.

The same report suggests think Dembele could give the Blues the necessary protection in midfield.
Dembele has been in fabulous form for Spurs this season and Jose Mourinho will be able to examine the Belgian at close quarters when Chelsea visit White Hart Lane on Sunday (midday).
