Hull City vs Derby County - Michael Dawson to miss Hull's clash with Derby

Hull will be without injured defender Michael Dawson for their televised home clash against promotion rivals Derby.

Dawson has been ruled out for up to four weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury in last week's draw at Bristol City so Curtis Davies is expected to step in to partner Harry Maguire at the heart of defence.

Robert Snodgrass played another full 90 minutes for the Under-21s in midweek as he steps up his recovery from a dislocated knee, but fellow midfielder David Meyler (knee) will be sidelined for two months.

Striker Abel Hernandez could return to the squad. He was not included last week after returning from international with Uruguay.

Derby will be without the suspended Bradley Johnson on Friday night.

Johnson received his fifth yellow card of the season during the home win against Cardiff and he must serve a one-match ban.

Either Jeff Hendrick or the fit-again Craig Bryson will replace Johnson in the centre of midfield.

Defenders Jason Shackell and Cyrus Christie have resumed training after sustaining knocks last weekend. Shackell jarred his knee while Christie suffered an ankle injury and had to be replaced late on.
