Di Maria page removed from Facebook after cryptic Ronaldo transfer post
Posted Tuesday, November 24, 2015 by Goal.com
A page purportedly belonging to the Argentine winger had sent out a tantalising message implying he would soon be playing with the Madrid man, but his wife assured it was not him
Angel Di Maria unwittingly found himself in the midst of a social media storm after he appeared to hint at a reunion with Cristiano Ronaldo.
A verified Facebook page dedicated to the Paris Saint-Germain winger posted an image of the duo with the title 'Soon my friend. Cristiano Ronaldo'.
However, the message did not come from the player and it remains unclear exactly who runs the page which carries a verification tick.
Di Maria's wife Jorgelina Cardoso left a message on Instagram which insisted that her husband was not behind the post.
"Angel does NOT use Facebook, he does NOT use Twitter," she put in her bio.
The page was subsequently removed from Facebook after the post was reported as genuine by several media outlets.
