Man United set to move for left-back in January with Luke Shaw injured

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal could sign a left-back in January as cover for the injured Luke Shaw.
Shaw, 20, is out long-term with a broken leg suffered in September's Champions League defeat at PSV Eindhoven.
Van Gaal, who has also revealed he hopes to tempt Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club in the summer, said that the England international's recovery is on track but is unsure if he will be back before next season.
"Luke's rehabilitation is going well but the process can be very slow," Van Gaal said. "I don't know if he will play again this season. The doctors won't take any risks with him, which is good."
Luke Shaw is stretchered off against PSV Eindhoven.
"I was convinced Luke would have a very good season and because of that I didn't buy a second player for left-back. Maybe we have to buy a left-back in January."
One reported option for United, according to The Sun on Sunday, is former Arsenal and Chelsea left-back Ashley Cole, who is completely out of favour at AS Roma and hasn't kicked a ball since playing 45 minutes against Manchester City in a Champions Cup friendly in July.
Cole, who won 107 caps for England, lost his place in the national squad to Shaw for the 2014 World Cup, leading him to announce his international retirement.
