VfB Stuttgart 0 - 4 Augsburg: Brilliant Augsburg pile pressure on Stuttgart coach Alexander Zorniger
Posted Sunday, November 22, 2015 by PA
Augsburg piled the pressure on Stuttgart coach Alexander Zorniger with a 4-0 win at the Mercedes-Benz Arena on Saturday.
Alexander Esswein struck twice in the space of six minutes as Stuttgart got caught out cold, with the game starting with a 15-minute delay to allow all the fans to get through stiffer security measures to take their seats.
Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker added a third for the visitors 10 minutes before half-time, heading Daniel Baier's cross powerfully past Odisseas Vlachodimos.
The trickery of Augsburg forward Caiuby meant they were a threat every time they attacked and Koo Ja-cheol's goal in the 54th minute was thoroughly deserved.
The win lifted Augsburg off the foot of the table and to within a point of Stuttgart, who could drop inside the bottom two on Sunday.
