Sheffield Wed. vs Huddersfield Town - Sam Hutchinson and Barry Bannan missing for Owls against Huddersfield

Sheffield Wednesday will be without midfielders Sam Hutchinson and Barry Bannan for their home game against Huddersfield.

Hutchinson starts a two-match ban after reaching 10 yellow cards while Bannan is likely to be out for two more weeks due to a knee injury.

Midfielder Alex Lopez (thigh) could return to contention after a near two-month injury lay-off but winger Modou Sogou (shoulder) and forward Marco Matias (hernia) remain sidelined.

Defender Michael Turner has been struggling with a knee problem since mid-October and, although back running again, he is still out.

Huddersfield's new head coach David Wagner has several injury concerns for his first game in charge.

The former Borussia Dortmund II coach will monitor defender Joel Lynch (hamstring) and striker Ishmael Miller (groin) and confirmed new loan signing from Leicester Ben Chilwell will not feature this weekend.

Philip Billing is sidelined due to the ankle injury he sustained in his home league debut against Leeds before the international break and fellow midfielder Jonathan Hogg has been struggling with a thigh injury.

On-loan striker Jamie Paterson is nursing a knock while Wagner is hoping left-back Jason Davidson (Australia), midfielder Emyr Huws (Wales) and forward Jake Charles (Wales Under-21s) have returned unscathed from international duty.
