Oxford United 2 - 3 Barnet: First-half goal blitz helps Barnet secure shock win at high-flying Oxford

Barnet ended the last remaining unbeaten home record in League Two with a shock 3-2 win over high-flying Oxford at the Kassam Stadium.

The Bees struck three goals in five minutes midway through a mad first half after the U's had taken a 14th-minute lead through Liam Sercombe, who fired in from from 12 yards when the visitors failed to clear a corner.

But the response from Martin Allen's side was remarkable, helped by some woeful Oxford defending.

First Curtis Weston reacted quicker in the box than Johnny Mullins to shoot low past Sam Slocombe on 26 minutes.

Three minutes later Jake Wright missed a simple cross to leave John Akinde a simple close-range finish.

And then on 31 minutes Josh Clarke latched onto a Joe Skarz mistake and punished him with another smart low finish.

United pulled it back to 3-2 five minutes before half-time when in-form Sercombe broke through the middle to net his sixth this campaign - two more than he managed in the whole of last season.

Kemar Roofe should have equalised in the second half for Oxford, after Jamie Stephens had saved well from Alex MacDonald, but Roofe mis-hit his shot.

And in the last minute, Stephens saved brilliantly from Roofe to preserve Barnet's lead.
